Fido

Fido, born Awosika Olayemi Josiah, is a rising Nigerian musician known for his unique blend of Afrofusion music. He hails from Ogun State, Nigeria, and currently resides in Lagos. Fido's journey into music began early, singing in his church choir, which helped him develop his vocal skills and passion for music. He draws inspiration from prominent Afrobeats artists like Olamide and Kizz Daniel, as well as Fela Anikulapo Kuti, whose powerful messages have influenced his style. After studying at the PEFTI Film Institute, Fido joined Inner Circle, a group that supports emerging artists, where he refined his sound by combining Afrobeats, trap, R&B, and dancehall.

Fido gained significant attention with his debut single "Awolowo," released in 2023, which became a hit for its catchy beats and meaningful lyrics. The song achieved over 22,000 Shazams and featured on the Nigerian Apple Music charts. Fido operates as an independent artist, handling his own production and distribution, supported by his fanbase, known as the "Osha FC." His music often explores themes of personal struggle and freedom, reflecting his belief that music should liberate listeners from their challenges.
