Urge Overkill

Urge Overkill is an alternative rock band that emerged from Chicago in the late 1980s. Formed by Nash Kato (vocals/guitar) and Eddie "King" Roeser (vocals/bass/guitar), they are perhaps best known for their cult-like following and their hit cover of Neil Diamond's "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon," which gained widespread fame after its inclusion in Quentin Tarantino's 1994 film "Pulp Fiction." Their sound is a blend of rock with a mix of glam and punk influences, marked by sleek production and cocksure swagger.

The band's activity has spanned over three decades with a series of hiatuses and reformations. After releasing albums throughout the '90s, including the well-received "Saturation" in 1993 and "Exit the Dragon" in 1995, they went on an extended break following struggles with fame and internal tensions. However, the group reunited in the 2000s, continuing to record and perform live. Their later works, such as "Rock&Roll Submarine" in 2011 and "Oui" in 2022, saw them return to the music scene with their distinctive blend of hard rock and melody, proving that Urge Overkill's unique style remains relevant in the modern music landscape.
