Beak>

Beak> is an English experimental rock band, formed in Bristol in 2009. The group consists of three accomplished musicians: Geoff Barrow, famous for being a member of the influential band Portishead, alongside Billy Fuller, a versatile bassist with numerous collaborations under his belt, and Will Young, who replaced original member Matt Williams on synths and keys. Beak>'s sound is defined by its minimalist and hypnotic approach, incorporating elements of krautrock, electronica, and post-punk, with a penchant for improvisation in both their live performances and recording sessions.

The band hit the ground running with their eponymous debut album, 'Beak>', in 2009, which was quickly followed by the '+' EP. Known for the enigmatic titles of their works, they continued to develop their distinctive sound with their second full-length album, '>>', in 2012, and the well-received third album, '>>>', in 2018. Alongside their album work, Beak> has produced an array of singles and EPs such as 'Sex Music', 'Brean Down', and the 'Life Goes On EP', as well as composing the haunting soundtrack for the film 'Couple in a Hole'. Not afraid to embrace the festive spirit in their idiosyncratic style, they also released '(Merry Xmas) Face the Future'. Their most recent work, 'KOSMIK MUSIK', showcases their continued evolution as a band unafraid to challenge conventions and explore the outer reaches of sound.
