Shepparton Airplane is a Melbourne-based punk rock band known for their energetic, raw, and noisy sound that blends jagged melodies with post-punk and '80s Aussie rock influences. Formed in the mid-2010s, they quickly made a mark with their self-titled 2016 debut album, which captured the vibrant immediacy of their live performances. The band members—Matt Duffy, Ezra Dowling, Stewart Rayner, and Steven Carter—are longtime friends and seasoned musicians who create music marked by catchy hooks, abrasive riffs, and intense feedback.

Over the years, Shepparton Airplane has evolved their sound from the raw punk energy of their debut through the more expansive and experimental tones of *Almurta* (2018), recorded in a regional Victorian farm shed, to the noisier, shoegaze-tinged *Sharks* (2020), produced with Anna Laverty. Their latest album, *Forecast* (2025), reflects a confident shift towards structured songs while retaining their signature loud and honest rock energy. Written partly during Melbourne’s pandemic lockdowns, *Forecast* explores themes of isolation, introspection, and human connection, showcasing the band's growth while still delivering powerful outsider guitar-driven rock rooted in genuine friendship and DIY ethos.
