The Shallows

The Shallows are a shoegaze and dream pop band from Somerville, Massachusetts, formed in 2019. The band consists of Jess Baggia on vocals and guitar, Brad Emerson on guitar and soundscapes, Jason Keisch on drums, and recently added Brian McKinnon on bass in 2024, replacing Ben Didsbury. Their music blends early and current shoegaze with hints of 80s post-punk and new romantic, creating ethereal layered songs punctuated by haunting and soaring vocals. The Shallows have released an EP and a full-length album, *Wave States*, which features tracks like "Soft Night," "Verdant," and "Channels".

The band's sound is influenced by bands like Slowdive, The Cure, and Cranes, reflecting expansive and atmospheric qualities. They have been active in the Boston music scene and are expected to tour further along the East Coast. The Shallows recently signed with Mint 400 Records and are working on new material. Their recent releases include singles like "White Sands," which showcases their dreamlike sound.
