Ugo Nastrucci

Ugo Nastrucci, born 14 December 1953 in Milan, Italy, is an acclaimed lutenist, theorbist and composer who has been a pivotal figure in the early‑music revival, co‑founding several influential ensembles; he studied composition with Irlando Danieli and Giacomo Manzoni at the Conservatorio “G. Verdi” in Milan, earning his diploma before embarking on a career that spans solo performance, theater music, orchestral, choral and chamber works, and he currently teaches theory and composition at an Italian music institute while maintaining an active recording presence that includes titles such as “Quando nacque Ninno” and contributions to projects like “Alfonso X el sabio.”
