Ausmuteants

Ausmuteants are an Australian punk band known for their irreverent sense of humor, raucous energy, and synth-driven sound that harks back to the garage punk and post-punk era of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Formed in 2011 in the town of Geelong, Victoria, the band consists of members Jake Robertson (vocals, guitar), Billy Gardner (synthesizer), Marc Dean (bass), and Shaun Connor (drums). They quickly made a name for themselves in Australia’s underground music scene with their live shows and debut release, "Split Personalities" in 2012.

Over the years, Ausmuteants have honed their craft, releasing a string of albums that demonstrate their ability to blend snarky, observational lyrics with catchy, raw melodies. In 2013, they unleashed "Amusements," an album that showcased their propensity for punk anthems laced with synthesizers. They followed up with "Order of Operation" in 2014, further entrenching their position in the punk realm. By the time their 2016 album, "Band of the Future," arrived, they had solidified their reputation with a matured sound and more pronounced synth elements. Not slowing down, they delivered "...Present the World in Handcuffs" in 2019, a concept album seeing the band dive into a satirical and critical narrative voice from the perspective of an unhinged police officer. With each release, including their 2017 EP "Mates Rates," Ausmuteants continue to garner a dedicated following both in Australia and internationally, attracting fans who crave a modern twist on classic punk sensibilities.
