The Sensational Alex Harvey Band

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (often shortened to SAHB) were a Scottish rock band formed in the early 1970s, fronted by singer and showman Alex Harvey. They became known for a gritty mix of hard rock, glam-tinged theatrics, and sharp storytelling, with Harvey’s larger-than-life stage presence helping set them apart from a lot of their era’s straight-ahead rock acts.

The group’s best-known lineup featured Alex Harvey alongside guitarist Zal Cleminson, bassist Chris Glen, keyboardist Hugh McKenna, and drummer Ted McKenna. They built much of their reputation on explosive live shows and a run of 1970s releases that made them cult favorites, particularly in the UK and Europe.
