For Against

For Against is an American post-punk and dream pop band from Lincoln, Nebraska. Formed in 1984, the group initially consisted of bassist/vocalist Jeffrey Runnings, guitarist Harry Dingman III, and drummer Gregory Hill. Despite lineup changes and periods of inactivity, For Against has been steadily producing music for decades.

The band's sound draws inspiration from British post-punk, particularly early Factory and 4AD artists. For Against has released several albums, including "Echelons" (1987), "December" (1988), and "Aperture" (1993). Their music is characterized by Runnings' distinctive vocals and bass playing, combined with atmospheric guitar work and driving drums. Despite critical acclaim, especially for their early work, For Against remained somewhat under the radar, particularly in the United States.
