KEIKO (Kubota Keiko) is a Japanese singer best known for her work with the vocal group Kalafina and the project FictionJunction, both produced by composer Yuki Kajiura. She began her music career in a rock duo called Itokubo before joining FictionJunction in 2005 and later Kalafina in 2007, where her deep, captivating voice became a signature part of the group's sound. Over more than a decade, Kalafina released multiple albums that charted in Japan's Oricon top 10 and contributed music to popular anime and documentaries. After Kalafina disbanded around 2018, KEIKO launched a solo career with Avex Trax, releasing her debut single in May 2020 and her first studio album *Lantana* in December 2020. She continues to perform solo, including recent singles like *夕闇のうた* (Yuuyami no Uta), released in 2024 as an anime ending theme, in collaboration again with Yuki Kajiura.
Her style blends expressive pop and anime-related music, and she has remained a respected figure in the Japanese music scene for her emotive vocal delivery and connection to top-tier anime projects. Fans of anime soundtracks and Japanese pop continue to eagerly follow her solo endeavors and reunion appearances with Kalafina.
