Alabama 3
Alabama 3 (also known in the U.S. as **A3**) are a **London-based** band who mash up **country, blues, gospel, rock, and electronic/acid house** into a rowdy, rootsy dance-floor sound they’ve often described as “**sweet pretty muthaf***in’ country acid house music**.” They formed in the mid-1990s and became cult favorites for their gritty, genre-hopping take on Americana filtered through UK club culture.
They’re probably best known for **“Woke Up This Morning,”** which was used as the opening theme for **_The Sopranos_** (in a remixed form), helping introduce the band to a much wider audience. Over the years, Alabama 3 have kept their music and live shows leaning into that same mix of swagger, satire, and soulful grit—equal parts backwoods revival and warehouse rave.
