Frehley's Comet was the post-KISS project of iconic guitarist Ace Frehley, who formed the band in the mid-1980s after leaving KISS in 1982. Blending hard rock with spacey theatrics, the group was Frehley’s vehicle for continuing his signature guitar-driven sound while stepping into a frontman role. The band released its self-titled debut in 1987 on Atlantic Records, which included the fan-favorite track “Rock Soldiers.” Known for their energetic style and sci-fi themes, Frehley's Comet also put out the EP Live + 1 and the full-length album Second Sighting in 1988.
While the lineup shifted over time, Frehley remained the face and driving force of the group. The band marked his successful return to the music scene and helped cement his reputation as one of rock's great guitar heroes. Frehley's Comet would eventually evolve into more of a solo effort under his own name, but their brief run remains a beloved chapter in his career, especially for fans of classic '80s rock with a cosmic twist.
