Laboratorio

Laboratorio is a genre-defying style characterized by experimental fusion of electronic and acoustic elements, often incorporating avant-garde and world music influences. Emerging in the 1990s, laboratorio drew from the avant-garde and musique concrète traditions of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as the atmospheric soundscapes of ambient and trip-hop. This genre is marked by its use of unconventional instruments, found sounds, and manipulations of traditional musical forms. Laboratorio's eclectic sound often features hypnotic rhythms, eerie sound design, and enigmatic vocal styles, blending the boundaries between music, art, and performance. With its emphasis on creative freedom and sonic innovation, laboratorio has attracted artists from diverse backgrounds, resulting in a rich, genre-bending sound that continues to inspire and provoke.
